30 Day Rehab
“What surprised me initially was the competence of the person I spoke to; the second thing that struck me was the comprehensive nature of the 30 day program, which took into account all of the issues that brought my client into treatment in the first place”

ARC is located in Los Angeles, California, and offers a variety of treatment options designed to meet the needs of every individual seeking help. The inpatient packages, which all include medical detox, are broken down into 30, 60, and 90 day stays, supplemented with assorted aftercare services. Aftercare services include day or night care, extended care and aftercare, and family or couples’ counseling. Regardless of the duration of each stay, the focus is on discovering the foundational causes of addiction, while simultaneously stressing the importance of translating these discoveries into practical action that fosters long-term recovery.
30 Day Rehab
One of the unique aspects of ARC’s 30 day drug rehab program is its focus on comprehensively diagnosing and treating the factors that contribute to addiction. The presence of co-occurring disorders (what is referred to as Dual Diagnosis) in addicted populations is significant, and ARC’s staff is trained to provide the care necessary to addressing the complicated nature of particular of these features. Our methodology is considered to be the most effective techniques to help people who have previously been unsuccessful in other traditional treatment settings. This means that we assess, diagnose, and provide individualized treatment protocols for the root causes of addiction in order to create the most successful, personalized treatment programs possible.

30 Day Rehab Services
The phases of ARC’s various programs consist of several components that remain fixed regardless of whether or not the client’s stay is 30, 60, or 90 days. Each phase is specially tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. These phases include:
Each phase of ARC’s program is meticulously geared toward maximizing clinical effectiveness. No two people entering treatment are exactly alike, and therefore no two treatment programs should be the same. Care is taken during intake, and continuing throughout treatment, to calibrate services to meet the changing needs of each individual.
This insistence on gauging services according to the needs of the individual goes to the heart ARC’s guiding philosophy: because addiction reflects the inner workings of the addict’s personality, treatment measures must reflect these differences and strive to honor each person’s unique set of issues.
The breakdown of services is as follows:
Phase One – Medical Detox
Detoxification is the foundation of recovery, and therefore must include specific criteria to ensure that a solid beginning is made. Generally speaking detox includes:
- Medical detoxification services (onsite)
- Full history and physical examination
- Toxicology screening
- TB testing
- Lab work
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Psychological assessment
- Bio/Psych/Social assessment
- Personalized treatment planning
- Multiaxial diagnostic assessment
Each person enrolling at ARC is seen by an independent medical doctor that specializes in addiction medicine to determine whether or not they need alcohol detox, drug detox, or prescription drug detox. This protocol is based on several factors, which include the type of chemical dependency, the history of use, prior treatment experiences, body mass index, age, etc. Most important in this medication assignment process is the emotional state and reported concerns of the person enrolling in the program. In other words, we listen to the patient. (If they have difficulty sleeping during withdrawal, we provide sleeping aids. If they have a history of anxiety during withdrawal, we provide anti-anxiety medications.) Ultimately, the primary goal during phase one is safety and comfort. The process has two facets: the first is maintaining the dignity of the client by providing as safe and supportive an environment as is possible; the second is ensuring that the detox process be a segue into the second phase of treatment; in other words: the detox process will eventually shape and inform much of the priorities of the master treatment plan.
Phase Two – Primary Care Services
During the second phase of treatment, ARC utilizes what are referred to as evidence-based tools to ensure that the individual’s clinical needs are met. At this juncture of treatment, education and a dawning clinical awareness of how and why one’s addiction manifests is critical. This is typically a period of intense growth and can be attended by feelings of exhilaration and fear. The fear component is natural, because part of the growth process includes challenging old belief systems and erecting a new self-image. Through both intensive individual therapy and rigorous group processing, destructive patterns of behavior are analyzed, and faulty modes of reacting are deconstructed.
The clinical tools employed include:
- Daily individual sessions (Monday-Friday)
- Grief therapy
- Abuse therapy
- Trauma therapy
- Somatic therapy
- Reflective therapy
- Analytical therapy
- Insight-based therapy
- Reason-based therapy
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Dialectical behavioral therapy
The tools outlined above allow for a baseline to be established, without which clinical treatment cannot begin. During this phase individual therapy sessions are coordinated with small process groups to maximize the effectiveness of the short term program. Within the construct of individual sessions the process of clinical assessment and diagnosis begins. Parallel to the individual sessions is the group modality. The group therapy process is designed to educate, motivate and normalize the shared experiences between participants.
These two methods, delivered together, help each person in the 30 day residential treatment program to receive the most advanced, evidence-based approaches available. In the entire residential treatment program there are only 12 participants, which mean that there is an incredible amount of attention paid to each person. This, along with the observations of each person within the group-construct, allows the clinical team to evaluate the category, type, and nature of any psychological or psychiatric issues that may have been previously undiagnosed or untreated. The treatment plan that was initially created during the first phase is modified through these tests and observations and is then solidified in the shape of the master treatment plan, or individualized treatment plan.
This plan includes specific goals and objectives that when completed will decrease the symptoms associated with behavioral dysfunction while increasing the chances of sustainable recovery. As each goal and objective is met, new goals and objectives replace them. The treatment is designed to continually move each person forward in recovery with regard to increasing awareness, increasing the number of healthy coping skills, and reinforcing positive characteristics while eliminating negative forms of self-expression. During this stage of the treatment process the treatment team – which includes medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and counselors – meets bi-weekly to discuss each person and move them forward to meet their treatment goals.

Phase Three – Aftercare Services
Aftercare services are as vitally important as primary care services. When a client is preparing to leave treatment the nature of the support they receive can alter the entire trajectory of their recovery. Individuals coming out of primary care are typically both fragile and frightened, without knowledge of how their new lives will take shape. Assisting them to continue their growth minus the structure of inpatient care is absolutely pivotal to long-term sobriety.
Generally speaking, aftercare services include:
- Sober living
- Family program
- Alumni meetings
- Aftercare planning
- Ancillary services referrals (dentistry, physical therapy, etc.)
- Continued therapy (individual, family, and couples’ counseling)
Because of the delicate state of the newly graduated resident, ARC approaches each case with a specially tailored aftercare plan that is formulated on a real-time outcome prognosis. This outcome prognosis is based on all the observations that have been made throughout their treatment up to the point of discharge. The aftercare plan takes into consideration the receptivity of the participant to information provided, the internalization of information, the level of personal awareness of the participant, the length of detox, the mental and behavioral health and the willingness to change, etc. The aftercare plan is comprehensive and drafted to address all the current clinical concerns, present, and ongoing needs of the individual. The idea is to create a plan that has appropriate measures in place to ensure the ongoing safety, sobriety and growth of the individual.
